I did not like that mission, to say the least.  Combo of fog of war and super thick fog made for no fun where I was. :'(

I had that problem the previous time I tried this mission, Fishercat. The fog was so thick, I couldn't see anything. The enemy AI could see me, even hundreds of yards away, but I never saw an enemy the entire time I stuck with the mission (which wasn't long). I ended up just shooting at the red square when the leader set a target (which he couldn't even see himself, but would show up on the map).

However, the last time I played this, I was part of the diver team with PapaReap and DTRAX. That was a lot more fun. For some reason, the fog wasn't bad at all in the city. I could actually see the people I was shooting at. I don't know why the fog was so much less there, but if you ever play the mission again, I highly recommend joining the diving team!

There is a parameter to set it very low.  I also found a bug where it was setting the fog differently on each client (I think) so that it got stuck really high on some.  Should start foggy but burn off to 50% in a little while.  Or you can start it lower with the parameters.  You can also set the time of day if you want more light.  I also set it for less enemies and fixed other things causing too many guys to spawn.  Also removed all marksman enemies as they were too sharp eyed in the fog.

I was testing it out this afternoon.  I found the hostages on a rooftop, and when they joined my squad half of them ran over and jumped off the roof to their death.   :D  Stupid AI.

It cracked me up to see in the video that you guys killed half the VIPs before you realized they were friendly.

Final bug took me forever to realize that triggers don't see guys in vehicles.  So when the VIPs were rescued, they were in a boat so the mission wouldn't end.  Fixed that one today.

Collateral damage.  Sometimes things can't be helped.
