Interesting news that some motherboard companies such as AsRock and MSI have released a bios update that will allow users owning NON K versions of intel skylake cpu's to overclock them. The results are actually pretty impressive, with AsRock claiming that on a "non k" i7-6700 they were able to gain a 32% gain in speed.
Currently the flagship i7-6700 "K model" is $516 cdn on NCIX and the "Non K model" is $439 cdn. That's close to a $100 savings for a chip that can now overclock to close to the same performance as it's "unlocked" brother. All because of a free Bios update. Sweet.
